FIELD: metallurgy.
SUBSTANCE: invention can be used in metallurgy in obtaining refractory base of tungsten-free hard alloys. Method of obtaining nanocrystalline titanium-molybdenum carbide powder involves high-temperature processing of initial mixture of powders of compound of titanium and molybdenum, followed by cooling. As titanium compound, titanium carbide is used at weight ratio of titanium carbide : molybdenum equal to 8:2. High-temperature treatment is carried out in stream of low-temperature nitrogen plasma at plasma temperature of 4,000–6,000 °C a plasma torch power of 2.4–3.6 kW/h and a plasma flow rate of 45–50 m/s. Feed rate of the initial mixture is 150–180 m/s. Product is cooled in a stream of nitrogen, captured on the surface of the fabric filter and carry out the encapsulation.
EFFECT: invention allows to obtain homogeneous nanocrystalline powder of complex titanium-molybdenum carbide Ti0,8Mo0,2C with NaCl type structure suitable for long-term storage.
