SUBSTANCE: application describes a water treatment cartridge for a steam device. Water treatment cartridge for steam device (10) comprises a housing in which are formed first flow chamber (56) and second flow chamber (58), wherein first flow chamber (56) has an inlet for water, in first flow chamber (56) there is arranged a water treatment material and second flow chamber (58) has an outlet for water, at which there is arranged coupling wall (84) for sealing stub (32) of steam device (10), having a conical region to be placed onto sealing stub (32) and which forms a sealing lip for bearing against sealing stub (32). First flow chamber (56) has a wall portion connected to the conical portion and surrounding coupling wall (84). Steam device, in particular the steam cleaning appliance, comprises water reservoir (26), sealing stub (32) communicating with pump (42), and water treatment cartridge (46) mounted on sealing stub (32) and located in water reservoir (26).
