FIELD: electricity.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a cooling device, in particular for cooling components housed in a switchgear cabinet. Result is achieved by the fact that the cooling device with a first fan for blowing air from the switchgear cabinet through a first heat exchanger, and a second fan for blowing ambient air through a second heat exchanger, further comprises power supply (1) with step-up and/or step-down converter (2), connected via rectifier (3) to wide-range input (4) for single-phase or multiphase alternating voltage, and charges capacitor (5) to an intermediate circuit voltage, higher or lower than mains voltage across wide-range input (4). Mains power pack (6) of at least one of the two cooling fans is connected in parallel to capacitor (5). Invention further relates to the use of the cooling device and to a corresponding method for operating the cooling device.

EFFECT: technical result is the cooling device, in which a single constructive form is sufficient to operate it under different input voltages.
