FIELD: heating of pipes or pipe systems.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to repairing pipelines used to transport fluids, such as oil. Reinforcement strip (20) for repairing pipe (10) is wound, under tension, around the portion of the pipe at the same time that a resin with a mesh structure is applied to the strip in such a way as to form a sleeve around the portion to be repaired. Strip comprises at least one integrated metal wire. Electrical properties of the wire are used for operations involving the crosslinking of resin, the detection of a pipeline section comprising a sleeve, or the detection of repaired pipeline sections whose diameter has increased as a result of wall thinning. Method of repairing the damaged section of pipeline (10) includes applying voltage to the wire in order to obtain a temperature increase due to the Joule effect to achieve a minimum temperature, for example 10 °C, necessary to begin polymerisation of the mesh structure resin applied on said strip.
EFFECT: technical result is rapid detection of parts of the pipeline having a sleeve, or detection of parts of a pipeline whose diameter has increased due to thinning of the pipeline wall.
