FIELD: construction.
SUBSTANCE: system and a method are proposed to strengthen a pipe section. The method includes application of a fibrous structure on a pipe section to be strengthened, and resin injection via the fibrous structure to the pipe section, so that the fibrous structure is substantially impregnated with resin. At the same time the resin has viscosity of less than approximately 10000 centipoise and surface tension of less than 30 dyne (30* 10-5 N). Resin hardening is provided at environmental conditions of the peak of the exothermic curve, which exceeds approximately 200°F (93.3°C), at the same time the hardened resin has vitrification temperature that exceeds approximately 150°F (65.6°C), and deformation heat resistance, which exceeds approximately 150°F (65.6°C). Resin injection may include using a strengthening retention element and a pliable shaping element underneath, which is compressed for resin injection via a fibrous structure to the pipe.
EFFECT: reduced costs.
