FIELD: sampling; cosmonautics.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to studies of the space environment on board, in particular, orbital stations. According to the method, sampling is carried out from the surface of the station by means of a sterilized and hermetically sealed sampler. Then the latter is hermetically sealed in a vacuum and returned to the Earth. Wipe samples are taken during the calendar period when a particular meteor stream crosses the Earth's orbit, and the station, moving in orbit with a height of at least 100 km, is in this stream. Sampling is performed after the maximum activity of the stream during the time before the completion of the stream activity epoch, equal to 10–25 % of this epoch. Origin of the matter sampled is identified by the established connection of the specific meteor stream with the comet-progenitor.

EFFECT: increase the reliability of identification of comet matter with the source of origin.
