FIELD: weapons and ammunition.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to weapons technology – the field of experimental ballistics. In the method, a device for measuring the pressure of powder gases in the barrel of a weapon consists of a body, a spring-loaded piston that receives a pressure pulse from the crusher mastic after the ammunition is initiated, deformable element in the form that changes color depending on the applied pressure of the indicator film, film rewinding mechanism, digital camera and computer equipment with appropriate communications. Pressure of the powder gases discharged from the barrel through a special opening acts on the crusher mastic, crushing it. Compression pulse is transmitted to the piston, which presses the opposite end on the indicator film. Depending on the applied pressure, the film changes its color at the point of contact. Color saturation depends on the applied force. And the image is transmitted to the computer for analysis.
EFFECT: ensuring the conduct of ballistic tests of a batch of ammunition under conditions of rapid-fire shooting and speeding up the processing of measurement results.
