SUBSTANCE: use for the cables in modern digital communication systems wave resistance in-process monitoring. Essence of the invention consists in the fact, that the communication cables wave resistance controlling method, which consists in the fact that supplying the rectangular pulses from a pulse generator to the communication cable input, connecting resistor to the communication cable and measuring the probing signal voltage in the communication cable input circuit, that between the pulse generator with amplitude and the communication cable input, in series connecting the voltage repeater and the reference resistor, opening the communication cable at the far end, measuring the voltage surge maximum value at the communication cable input, and calculating the communication cable characteristic impedance.

EFFECT: enabling the possibility of the control process simplification and its application versatility while maintaining the cables wave resistance measuring high accuracy.
