SUBSTANCE: in a disposable pants-type diaper, comprising a waist edge section that has straight line drapes and gives a comfortable wear feeling, inner layer (21) and outer layer (22) at waist edge section (W) of covering body (12) are joined by adhesive (71), which is intermittently disposed in the width direction and continuously along the direction intersecting with the width direction, or by a welding process performed periodically in the width direction and continuously in a direction intersecting the width direction, whereby joined sheet portions (70) are formed, elastic and stretchable members (17) of waist edge section are located between inner layer (21) and outer layer (22) and are attached to at least one of inner layer (21) and outer layer (22) at the intersections with joined sheet portions (70), and the diaper includes non-bonded and non-elastic stretchable member area (25) in end portion of covering body (12), located on the side of waist opening (WO) in waist edge section (W), wherein said area has neither joined sheet portions (70) nor elastic and stretchable members (17) of the waist edge section, and has a vertical extent that is greater than the distance between elastic and stretchable member (17) of the waist edge section closest to the side of waist opening (WO) and elastic and stretchable member (17) of the waist edge section adjacent thereto.
EFFECT: object of the present invention is to provide an underpants-type disposable diaper including a waist edge portion with excellent air permeability and wearing feeling.
