SUBSTANCE: according to the present invention, proposed is a pants-type disposable diaper being provided with pleats that are formed in an exterior cover and straightly and vertically extend. Problem is solved by the method for producing a pants-type disposable diaper comprising in forming a stretchable area, applying adhesive (71) to the outer surface of inside layer (21) and the inner surface of outside layer (22) both in a same vertically striped pattern intermittently along the MD, with simultaneous movement of inside layer (21) and outside layer (22) and subsequent attachment of resilient and elastic members (19) to inside layer (21) and outside layer (22) by bonding inside layer (21) and outside layer (22) together in such a manner that the MD position of adhesive (71) in inside layer (21) agrees with the MD position of adhesive (71) in outside layer (22), and inserting resilient and elastic stretchable members (19) between inside layer (21) and outside layer (22) along the MD.

EFFECT: diaper has excellent appearance and breathability and is excellent in pulling prevention of resilient and elastic members.
