SUBSTANCE: invention discloses the use of a mixed ester obtained by an esterification reaction between: (A) at least one aliphatic linear C6-C10-dicarboxylic acid, (B) at least one aliphatic linear or branched polyhydric alcohol with 3, 4 or 5 hydroxyl groups and (C) as chain termination agent (C1) with at least one aliphatic linear or branched C8-C18-monocarboxylic acid in the case of an excess of component (B), as a fuel additive to reduce fuel consumption when the internal combustion engine with such a fuel is used in combination with at least one fuel additive having a detergent action and selected from polyisobutene monoamines or polyisobutene polyamines, having Mn=300 to 5,000, having at least 50 mol. % of vinylidene double bonds and obtained by hydroformylation of the corresponding polyisobutene, followed by reductive amination with ammonia, monoamines or polyamines, in combination with at least one mineral or synthetic carrier oil, the mixed ester consists of from 2 to 9 units of the molecules of the component (A) and from 3 to 10 units of the molecules of the component (B), the component (B) being contained in excess compared to the component (A), with the remaining free hydroxyl groups of the component (B), which are completely or partially blocked at the end by a corresponding number of units of the molecules of the component (C1). Also fuel composition comprising gasoline and said additive, as well as a concentrate containing said components are disclosed.

EFFECT: technical result consists in reducing fuel consumption when the internal combustion engine is operated with such fuel.
