Calcium carbonate-reacted mineral material and/or precipitated calcium carbonate reacted on the surface is coated with at least one anionic polymer with a total negative charge density ranging from 1 mceq/g to 15,000 mceq/g. Resulting calcium carbonate-containing material with a surface coating is used to purify water, dewatering sediments or suspended sediments.
EFFECT: claimed group of inventions provides increased flocculation efficiency, promotes dehydration or filtration of sediments or suspended sediments.
