SUBSTANCE: thermal transfer films are proposed, including a) a film substrate, b) at least one lacquer layer, for example one, two or three lacquer layers arranged directly on the film substrate, c) at least one, in particular one, heat sealable polymeric adhesive layer, the lacquer layer being based on a non-aqueous, radiation-curable liquid composition comprising at least 60 % by weight, in particular at least 70 % by weight (based on the total weight of the composition) of curable components selected from the group consisting of organic oligomers with ethylene unsaturated double bonds and mixtures of these oligomers with monomers containing at least one ethylene unsaturated double bond, and the heat sealable polymer adhesive layer comprises at least one radiation curable component. Use of these thermal transfer films for dry varnishing of surfaces is also described. In addition, the preparation of these thermal transfer films as well as the method of coating on the surface of articles, or, respectively, coating the surfaces of articles with the use of said thermal transfer films are described.
EFFECT: thermal transfer films for dry varnishing of surfaces are offered.
