SUBSTANCE: marking device for marking information carriers is described and provided, comprising a housing, a marking unit, a marking chamber formed inside the housing, and a holding device for holding at least one information carrier, wherein the holding device is able to move between a loading and unloading position outside the marking chamber and a marking position inside the marking chamber. Using the marking device according to the invention, different information carriers can be easily and quickly marked due to the fact that there is a feed magazine for accommodating a plurality of information carriers to be marked, a deposit magazine for storing a plurality of marked information carriers, a conveyor device and a positioning device, wherein an information carrier (2) can be taken from the feed magazine into a first lower level in the marking chamber by means of the conveyor device, wherein the first level is arranged below the holding device, the information carrier can be moved by the positioning device vertically between the first lower level in the marking chamber and the marking position in a second upper level in the marking chamber, and the information carrier can be taken from the first lower level in the marking chamber to the deposit magazine by means of the conveyor device.

EFFECT: object of this invention is to provide a marking device with which the different information media can be marked as easily and quickly as possible.
