FIELD: shipbuilding.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to shipbuilding, namely to propulsion systems. Propulsion system contains a hollow bracket attached pivotally to the hull of the vessel, the shaft of the propeller having an axial center line, located and supported in the lower part of the bracket by bearings, a propeller attached to at least one end of the propeller shaft extending from the bottom of the bracket, and an electric motor driving the propeller shaft. Additional support structure is located in at least one end portion of the propeller shaft in the axis direction outside the bearings. Support structure comprises a first bearing surface made connected to the shaft of the propeller, and a second bearing surface mated to the first bearing surface and made connected to the lower part of the bracket. Second support surface is located at a predetermined distance (D1) from the first support surface with the formation of a slot (S1) between the first support surface and the second support surface facing each other. Bending of the propeller shaft due to external loads acting on the propeller is limited to the supporting surfaces to the specified maximum value.
EFFECT: achieved improvement of the propulsion system.
