FIELD: instrument engineering.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a rotary seal design for an engine block. Engine block includes a post having an upper portion which upper end portion extends through a passage formed between the first outer bottom and the second inner bottom on the vessel. Upper end portion is rotatably supported (Y-Y) by means of a pivot bearing and sealed by a rotary seal. Upper rotary seal prevents leakage of the lubricant from the pivot bearing, wherein access to the upper rotary seal is provided radially from the interior of the vessel or from the interior of the post, in order to be able to service the upper rotary seal. Lower rotary seal is located at some vertical distance below the upper rotary seal and does not allow seawater to penetrate the hull of the ship, wherein access to the lower rotary seal is provided radially from the interior of the vessel or from the interior of the post to be able to service the lower rotary seal.
EFFECT: enabling easy access to the rotary seal in order to be able to service the rotary seal from the inside of the vessel or from the inside of the post.
