FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a method for producing elastomers and to an elastomer obtained using said method. Method of producing elastomers comprises polymerisation of monomers in a reaction medium in the presence of an initiating system. Reaction is carried out in an organic diluent. One of the monomers is an isoolefin containing from 4 to 7 carbon atoms. Second monomer is a multi-olefin selected from the group consisting of isoprene and butadiene. Initiating system contains a Lewis acid and an initiator. Organic diluent contains methyl chloride in an amount of 48 to 52 vol. % and 1,1,1,2-tetrafluoroethane in an amount of 48 to 52 vol. %.
EFFECT: invention makes it possible to produce butyl rubber in a continuous manner in high yield, and carry out polymerisation at a high rate.
