SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a method of producing an aqueous suspension comprising copolymer particles and to an aqueous suspension obtained using said method. Method of preparing an aqueous suspension includes copolymer particles suspended therein and preparation steps. Reaction medium is prepared which contains an organic diluent and at least two monomers, provided that at least one monomer is isoolefin and at least one monomer is a multiolefin. Polymerisation of monomers in a reaction medium in the presence of an initiating system to form a medium which includes a copolymer, an organic diluent and optionally residual monomers. Medium is then brought into contact with an aqueous medium containing at least one compound with a Lower Critical Dissolution Temperature (LCDT) selected from methyl cellulose, hydroxypropyl cellulose, hydroxyethyl cellulose, hydroxyethyl methyl cellulose and hydroxypropyl methyl cellulose. Thereafter, organic diluent and residual monomers are removed.
EFFECT: technical result is reduced content of fine particles, as well as slower agglomeration of particles.
