FIELD: shipbuilding.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the field of shipbuilding, in particular to underwater ships, breaking ice cover by resonant flexural-gravity waves. Device for breaking the ice cover consists of an underwater vessel capable of moving under the ice at a resonant speed. On the upper surface of the hull of the vessel in the bow part under the first depression of flexural-gravity waves excited by the vessel, small wings are installed. Wings are able to periodically be installed and removed from the surface of the vessel with a frequency of resonant flexural-gravity waves and be in a fixed or remote position for a time equal to half the period of these waves.
EFFECT: increase in the efficiency of the destruction of the ice cover is achieved.
