SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the technology of explosives, namely to a method for producing a potassium salt of 1,1-dinitro-1-(4-nitro-3-(1H-tetrazol-1-yl)-1H-pyrazol-1-yl)methane (2), which can be used as a component of energy-intensive initiating and igniter compositions, not containing in its composition of heavy metals. Compound 2 significantly exceeds the known initiating compounds in combustion temperature and heat of explosion, while having a similar burning rate and flash point. High sensitivity of compound 2, which is close to the sensitivity of rattling mercury, allows compound 2 to be used as an independent initiating explosive or a key component of initiating compositions in various initiation means, mainly in impact and electric igniters.

EFFECT: method of obtaining the compound consists in treating 4-nitro-3-(tetrazol-1-yl)pyrazole with bromoacetone in the presence of a base, the resulting N-acetonyl derivative is subjected to destructive nitration with a sulfur-nitrogen mixture at a controlled temperature, followed by extraction of the dinitromethyl intermediate and its transfer without isolation in solid form and purification into the target potassium salt by the action of the potassium acetate solution.
