FIELD: engines and pumps.
SUBSTANCE: invention can be used in fuel injection systems of internal combustion engines. Proposed design of the mechanical seal of the fuel rail for a gasoline engine with direct fuel injection, which has a simple design and can meet the requirements of higher pressure in the fuel rail. In the proposed design, one end or both ends of the body of rail 1 is/are closed with end cap or end caps 4. End cap 4 is attached by a threaded connection to sleeve 2, soldered to the open end of the body of the fuel rail.
EFFECT: compaction of the structure is realized by means of gasket 5, which is compressed by an axial force created by tightening the end cap for sealing purposes.
