FIELD: mechanical engineering; ignition systems of piston engines. SUBSTANCE: ignition of fuel mixture in piston engine is provided by supply amplitude-controlled high voltage from carry-on voltage converter between central electrode and piston. Negative potential is applied to central electrode, and positive potential, to piston. Strength of electric field is regulated by changing frequency and pulse period-to-pulse duration ratio of carry-on voltage converter operating frequency. Fuel injection system is included into ignition system. Central electrode is made hollow with capillary through hole for electrostatic delivery and atomizing of fuel. EFFECT: simplified and increased efficiency of fuel-air mixing and mixture ignition. 17 cl, 1 dwg
