SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the construction of pipelines and can be used in constructing transitions under automobile, railroads, laid in a protective casing. Method for monitoring the position of the support-guide rings in the pipeline section is to drag the pipeline section through the guard by means of support-guiding rings and traction. Support-guide rings installed on the pipeline section are connected in series with a test lead fixed to the surface of the pipeline with resistors parallel to it, at the same time, a temperature measuring device is connected to the test wire with a light and sound alarm and a power source, and according to the indications of the temperature measuring device and the table of the correspondences of temperatures and resistances in the circuit, the displaced support-guiding ring is determined.

EFFECT: use of the invention makes it possible to terminate the process of dragging a pipeline section in a protective case in a timely manner if a displacement of the support-guiding rings is detected, that leads to a failure of the insulation and the contact of the pipeline and the protective case, thereby increasing the reliability and quality of repair work; perform an analysis of the reasons for the displacement of the support-guiding rings during the work, to prevent the economic costs of eliminating the contact of the pipeline and a protective case due to untimely detection of the displacement of the support-guide ring.
