SUBSTANCE: invention relates to road transport and, in particular, can be used to prevent a car coup in traffic accident. Method of preventing a car from turning over in a traffic accident that has inflated cushion is that while vehicle is moving when it is laterally tilted to predetermined critical angle of car’s turn, signal is given to extend from under the car in the direction of inclination of inflating cushion, which is inflatable support wing. Device for implementing the above method has sensors of a critical angle of inclination on each side of the vehicle, and underneath vehicle bottom, on either side of it, flat slotted housings in which inflatable cushions pushed out by the signal are placed on each side, which are composite, for example, Kevlar wings, each of which through its critical tilt sensor, on its side, are connected through a two-position valve to compressed air vessel, pressure of which is 200–300 bar.
