FIELD: electrical engineering.

SUBSTANCE: group of inventions relates to a charging column equipped with a sensor for identifying the mechanical deformation of the body of the charging column, as well as to a method for identifying the mechanical deformation of the body of the charging column. Charging column is made with the possibility of charging the electric power drive of a vehicle with an electric drive. Sensor contains a mechanically stable elongated rod. Rod has a first end portion and a second end portion. Rod with its first end part is connected to the base of the charging column and extends in the longitudinal direction approximately parallel to the side wall of the charging column. Side wall of the charging column is sensitive to body deformations. Electrical contact sensing element is located on the second end portion of the rod. Activating element is connected to the side wall of the charging column and is located in the area of the electrical contact sensitive element. Activating element is adapted to activate an electrical contact sensitive element. In the normal state of the charging column body, the activating element continuously activates the electrical contact sensitive element, and if there is deformation of the charging column case, the activating element automatically deactivates the electrical contact sensitive element.

EFFECT: reduction in the risk of electric shock from the charging column during its deformation is achieved.
