SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the field of gas treatment and can be used in the production of urea. To process a gas stream containing ammonia, the gas stream in a scrubber is treated with an acid or acid salt capable of capturing an ammonium group and forming ammonia salts. Remove the regeneration solution containing the ammonia salt from the scrubber. Regeneration solution is heat treated to decompose the ammonia salt and produce ammonia gas and molten or liquid reagent composition. Portion of the reagent composition is supplied to a scrubber to remove ammonia from the gas stream. Ammonia is carried off to the urea plant. Regeneration solution obtained in the scrubber is either an aqueous solution of ammonium sulfate or an aqueous solution of monoammonium phosphate (MAP) and diammonium phosphate (DAP).
EFFECT: ensured extraction and reuse of components, eliminated formation of by-products.
