METHOD FOR DIFFERENTIAL DIAGNOSIS OF AGE AND COMPLICATED CATARACT Russian patent published in 2019 - IPC G01N33/68

Abstract RU 2690152 C2

FIELD: medicine.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to ophthalmology. Method for differential diagnosis of age-related and complicated cataract, involving the use of dry antibodies to peroxiredoxins 6, physiologic saline of sodium chloride or distilled water and fluorescein, is characterized by the fact that peroxiredoxins 6 antibody solution is prepared in a neutral buffer, for example physiologic saline of sodium chloride, distilled water, at that concentration of antibodies in solution should make from five to nine percent, then fluorescein in concentration of 0.1–0.3 mg/ml is added; in prepared solution, a strip of cellulose or synthetic polymer is wetted, dried in atmospheric air conditions at temperature not higher than 40 °C; test strip is placed beyond the patient's lower eyelid region between the outer and middle third, and after 1–2 minutes after contact with the tear fluid, the strip staining is evaluated: if intensive staining is observed, tear protein content corresponds to concentration equal to or more than 7.93 mg/ml - age cataract is diagnosed; if the strip is weak, then the content of the tear protein is less than 7.93 mg/ml - the complicated cataract is diagnosed.

EFFECT: invention can be used for rapid diagnosis of aetiological form of cataract.
