FIELD: technological processes.
SUBSTANCE: described is a preform for the manufacture of a plastic container by the method of blow molding, which has an elongated preform body in the form of a tube, which is closed at the bottom of the preform at one of its longitudinal ends and has a preform neck at its other longitudinal end. Said preform consists, at least in a separate area, from polyethylene furanoate (PEF), which, in the manufacture of the preform, has a viscosity of 0.75 to 0.9 dl/g, measured by a measurement method according to ASTM D4603, and a water content of less than 50 ppm. In addition, a method for manufacturing a preform, a method for blow molding for manufacturing a container from a preform as well as a container obtained therefrom are described.
EFFECT: increased mechanical strength and barrier properties of the product.
