FIELD: nanotechnologies.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to nanotechnology and can be used in chemistry, biology and medicine for visualization and diagnosis. Interphase transfer of nanocrystals from the organic phase to the aqueous phase is carried out, using as an interphase transfer catalyst the enantiomers of chiral molecules with 1-(2-pyridylazo)-2-naphthol (PAN) added to the organic phase. As a result of the coordination of chiral molecules and PAN molecules to the same metal atom, new optically active bands appear on the surface of nanocrystals in the spectrum of their electronic absorption, in this case, all nanocrystals from the organic phase are transferred to the aqueous phase, and the quantum yield of their luminescence is completely preserved.
EFFECT: enantiomerically pure ensemble of water-soluble luminescent chiral nanocrystals with high optical activity in the visible region of the spectrum is obtained.
