FIELD: technological processes.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a method for fusing aramid/aramid fibres. Method of fusing aramid fibres consists in that a) at least one zone of the aramid fibre is treated with an ionic liquid so that the aramid softens, b) the aramid fibres of the softened zone are brought into contact with each other, and pressure is preferably applied to the contact area, and then c) the softened zone of aramid is again coagulated. Ionic liquid meets at least one of two specified criteria, where values α and β are Kamlet-Taft solvent parameters.
EFFECT: invention allows to improve the quality of aramid material.
