FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a method, in which magnetic ionic liquids are applied for liquid-liquid, liquid-solid phase or liquid-gas extraction, with the separation of phases taking place in a magnetic field. The phases can be separated in liquid extraction media in the form of ionic liquids by their selection, independently on the action of gravity and/or centrifugal force and independently on the difference of densities of the said phases. A device for extraction and the method of extraction, based on interaction between an extraction medium and magnetic field, are also claimed. The claimed ionic liquid can represent a solution of a paramagnetic inorganic and/or organic salt in a non-paramagnetic ionic liquid.
EFFECT: increased rate and accuracy of phase separation.
