SUBSTANCE: invention relates to concealment and can be used to hide military and civil objects in various wavelength ranges. Masking material has an outer surface containing local elevations and/or depressions (irregularities). In this case, irregularities are grouped together in such a way that smaller irregularities form larger irregularities. Camouflage material is also provided in the form of separate movable elements on the surface of the masked object, having at least an outer surface. When object (23) moves on the material, the outer surface of material (25), from the viewpoint of the observer, maintains its position relative to the background in at least one of the wavelength bands in at least one direction, at least, on some surfaces of the object.
EFFECT: provides an increase in the effectiveness of masking objects.
