FIELD: measuring equipment.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to micrometric instruments for measuring external dimensions. Smooth micrometer contains two pairs of parallel horizontal and vertical sighting wires, which are attached to the micrometer bracket and parallel to the common axis of the micrometer heels and serve to base the measured object. Micrometer is equipped with a movable prism for the location of the object being measured, which is able to change its position in space by fixing it on a telescopic device with a hinge. Telescopic device is fixed with a grip on the micrometer bracket and has the ability to change the distance of the prism relative to the common axis of the micrometer heels. Hinge, located on the top stand of the telescopic device, allows you to change the position of the prism with the measured product mounted on the prism in space and precisely base the product relative to the common axis of the micrometer heels. Axis of the telescopic device is perpendicular to the common axis of the heels of the micrometer.

EFFECT: technical effect is to improve the accuracy of measuring the dimensions of parts of complex configuration used in mechanical engineering, and the grain size of grain and leguminous crops due to the precise base of the measured product relative to the heels of the micrometer.
