FIELD: heating.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to electrothermancy, in particular, to designs of heaters for heating cylindrical furnaces. Technical result is achieved by a wire heater for a cylindrical furnace containing coaxially arranged resistive elements and current leads connected in series. In this case, the heater is made in the form of spiral made from a single piece of wire in the form of sequentially connected zigzag elements having an ogival shape, oriented by a long part of the element along longitudinal axis, with a ratio of the lengths of parts of zigzag elements as six to one. Moreover, the spiral is freely rolled around the circumference, and the current leads are made in the form of cylinders whose diameter is five times the diameter of heater wire.
EFFECT: technical result is to increase uniformity of heat flow and reduce heat losses to achieve high heating temperatures at optimum current load to increase reliability.
