STAPLE CARTRIDGE ASSEMBLY, ADJUNCT MATERIAL AND TISSUE STAPLING METHOD Russian patent published in 2018 - IPC A61B17/64

Abstract RU 2676438 C2

FIELD: medicine.

SUBSTANCE: group of inventions relates to medical equipment, specifically to surgical instruments, in particular to methods, devices and their components for cutting and stapling tissue. Staple cartridge for use with a surgical stapler includes a cartridge body and adjunct material. Cartridge body comprises staples therein. Adjunct material is configured for connection with the cartridge body and is configured for attachment to tissue with staples in the cartridge. Adjunct material has positively charged particles so that the adjunct material is configured to improve the healing of the tissue. Adjunct material comprises a polysaccharide backbone chain with attached functional groups. Polysaccharide backbone chain comprises at least one of cellulose gel and dextrose gel, and the functional groups comprise at least one of a diethylaminoethyl group and a quaternary amine group. Adjunct material for use with a surgical stapler comprises an adjunct layer comprising at least one of a layer of synthetic material, a layer of biological material, and / or combinations thereof. Adjunct layer contains positively charged particles distributed therein so that the adjunct layer is configured to improve the tissue healing. Adjunct layer is adapted to mate with a surgical stapler and to form a seal around staple legs. Tissue stapling method includes attaching said adjunct material to at least one of the cartridge assembly and an end effector anvil, engaging the tissue between the cartridge assembly and the anvil and actuation of the end effector to push the staples out of the cartridge assembly into the tissue, with the staples passing through the adjunct material to hold the adjunct material in the surgical field.

EFFECT: use of inventions allows for the desired healing of wounds in the tissue.
