METHOD OF CROSS-LINKING CORNEAL COLLAGEN BY MEANS OF FEMTOSECOND LASER IN EXPERIMENT Russian patent published in 2018 - IPC A61F9/08 A61K31/525 A61P27/02

Abstract RU 2676451 C1

FIELD: medicine.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to medicine, specifically to ophthalmology. To conduct corneal collagen crosslinking in the experiment, the cornea is treated with a solution of 0.1 % riboflavin for 30 minutes, the cornea is irradiated and its surface is wetted during the irradiation process with this solution every 2 minutes. Cornea is irradiated by a femtosecond laser with a wavelength of 525 nm. For this purpose, the human donor cornea is placed in an artificial anterior chamber, the central zone of the cornea is irradiated with a laser in the form of a straight circular cylinder 4 mm in diameter, 1 mm high, the upper base of which is the central zone of the cornea, and the longitudinal axis of the cylinder coincides with the optical axis of the eye. Set of identical layers is formed with a distance between them of 10 microns, the plane of which is perpendicular to the longitudinal axis of the cylinder. Each layer is formed from voxels located 2 mcm apart from each other in one row in height. Each voxel is an elliptical cylinder, the longitudinal axis of which lies in the plane of the layer, the major axis of the base perpendicular to the plane of the layer. In each layer, the longitudinal axes of the voxels of one layer are shifted by 90 degrees relative to the longitudinal axes of the voxels of the next layer.

EFFECT: method increases the density of the cornea structure and its ability to resist stretching due to the cross-linking of collagen fibers.
