FIELD: technological processes.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to methods for sorption of Th(IV) from aqueous solutions. Immobilization of thorium(IV) is carried out on a sorbent based on cerium(IV) dipotassium hydrogen. Cerium-containing phosphate solution with cerium(IV) concentration of 0.01÷0.8 M is mixed with an aqueous solution containing thorium ions, withstand the resulting suspension of cerium(IV) dipotassium hydrogen with adsorbed thorium with stirring, the precipitate formed from the liquid is separated and annealed at 1,000÷1,200 °C.
EFFECT: method provides effective sorption of thorium(IV) from aqueous radioactive solutions.
