FIELD: process engineering.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to extraction of heavy metals and radio nuclides by sorption from water solutions. Proposed sorbent represents heat-treated mix of self-disintegrating calcium silicate-based slag and aluminium hydroxide silicate based on some clays and hydro micas. Said sorbent contains the following components in terms of oxides, wt %: slicon dioxide - 28-31, calcium oxide - 40-53, aluminium oxide - 7-9, magnesium oxide - 6-8, potassium oxide - 0.5-1.0, sodium oxide - 0.5-1.0, iron oxide - 1.0-3.0.

EFFECT: efficient irreversible sorption of radio nuclides and heavy metals by composite sorbent.
