SUBSTANCE: invention relates to wireless communication. Electronic device provides a configuration violation tracking module circuit configured to detect a change in voltage standing wave ratio (VSWR) between a radio frequency (RF) transmitter and RF antenna relative to a predetermined baseline VSWR, and a proximity sensor circuit configured to regulate the transmit power of the carrier wave transmitted from the RF transmitter if the change cannot satisfy the condition of an acceptable VSWR.

EFFECT: network proximity sensors are also provided to allow the coordination of antenna subsystems to be consistent with the limitations of the specific absorption rate (SAR) and/or to maintain/improve the performance of the antenna.
