SUBSTANCE: invention relates to medicine, biology, veterinary medicine and can be used in the practice of histological laboratories for the conclusion and storage of histological preparations. Medium for making histological sections is disclosed, which contains gum arabic in the amount of 35–37 wt%, sucrose – 12–14 wt%, glycerin – 2–5 wt%, phenol – 2–3 wt%, and distilled water – to 100 wt%. At the same time for the preparation of the medium, a vial with a suspension of gum arabic in distilled water in a mass ratio 1:1 is placed in a thermostat at a temperature of 60 °C, with stirring occasionally by rolling the bottle in the horizontal plane, after 12–14 hours, the remaining distilled water and sucrose in the form of fine powder are added, exposed in a thermostat at a temperature of 60 °C until complete dissolution of sucrose, molten phenol and glycerin are added and exposed in a thermostat at 60 °C, periodically rolling the bottle to obtain a homogeneous yellowish opalescent liquid.

EFFECT: environment for histological sections is non-toxic, resistant to fungal lesions, plastic, preventing fading and deformation of histological sections, transparent, devoid of air bubbles and reusable after manufacture.
