SUBSTANCE: invention relates to an apparatus for producing liquid droplets and can be used in ultrasonic or vibrating mesh aerosol nebulisers. Apparatus for producing liquid droplets comprises vibrating element (106) and sealing element (202). Vibrating element (106) is placed to vibrate aperture plate (102) during use of the device. Sealing element (202) is arranged to provide a liquid-tight seal on at least a portion of the vibrating element, the sealing element comprising closed cell foam material. Between at least part of the vibrating element and the sealing element is adhesive (204). Method of manufacturing a device for producing liquid droplets comprises vibrating element (106), placed to ensure vibration of the aperture plate during use of the device. Sealing element (202) is then placed to provide a liquid-tight seal on at least a portion of the vibrating element. Sealing element contains closed cell foam material. In addition, method comprises providing adhesive (204), placed to hold in place of the sealing element before placing the sealing element.
EFFECT: technical result of the invention is to extend the service life of the seal and reduce power consumption.
