SUBSTANCE: invention relates to methods of non-destructive testing and allows to investigate reinforcing boride coatings applied on a steel base and to make a conclusion about the quality of the coating on steel. Method of studying the quality and wear resistance of reinforcing boride coatings, based on the analysis of the two-frequency signal of the eddy current transducer, is an estimate of the standard deviation of the signal of the eddy current transducer using a measuring system that includes a personal computer with software and blocks for generating, filtering, separating the signal.

EFFECT: improving the accuracy of determining the quality and durability of the boride coating, reducing the influence of the gap between the eddy current transducer and the product under test on the inspection results.
