FIELD: cutting.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a method for cutting a steel round pipe with a plasma cutter up to 12 m long along the longitudinal axis to obtain a longitudinal segment of the pipe. Method consists in the fact that the pipe is placed on roller rotators with a height adjustment system for different pipe diameters, and a pipe end is fixed in a three-jaw chuck. Then the pipe is cut into longitudinal segments with an air-cooling plasma cutter at currents from 90 to 120 A. In the plasma cutter, air with a pressure of 0.5 to 0.6 MPa is used as the plasma-forming gas. Plasma cutter consists of two parts, rigidly fixed with each other horizontally. One of the parts of the plasma cutter is mounted on a horizontal guide parallel to the steel round pipe, which allows the second part of the plasma cutter to be moved, cutting the steel round pipe, along the longitudinal axis of the steel round pipe at a fixed distance, providing a smooth longitudinal cut of the pipe along the entire length.
EFFECT: geometrical stability and the absence of deformation of the pipe segments obtained after the end of the cutting process are ensured.
