FIELD: medicine.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to medicine, namely to ophthalmology, and can be used to select an approach for treating aggressive posterior retinopathy of prematurity at disease onset. Diameter of central arteries and the coefficient of tortuosity of arteries are determined during the preoperative examination of a patient. Obtained values are substituted into the equation of logistic regression: Z=exp(55.2726+(-0.1584)*X+(-35.3911)*Y)/(1+exp(55.2726+(-0.1584)*X+(-35.3911)*Y)), wherein X is a diameter of central arteries of the patient, Y is a coefficient of tortuosity of arteries of the patient. If Z<0.5, the patient undergoes surgical treatment – primary vitrectomy. If Z>0.5, the patient undergoes laser treatment – transpupillary retina laser coagulation (RLC). If Z=0.5, ophthalmic ultrasonography is performed, and when a retinal detachment is detected, the patient undergoes surgical treatment – primary vitrectomy. In the absence of retinal detachment, the patient undergoes laser treatment – transpupillary RLC.
EFFECT: method provides an informed choice of an effective method of treatment with the achievement of a stable regression of the disease in the postoperative period with a probability of 96 % due to the application of a diagnostic model based on logistic regression.
