SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a brewing module for a beverage preparation machine comprising body (2) with a capsule insertion opening (11) through which the capsule can be introduced; brewing module first part and brewing module second part movable relative to brewing module first part to form a brewing chamber. First and second parts of brewing module can move relative to each other between three different preset positions, wherein in first position brewing chamber is formed, and after moving from first position to second position, capsule located in brewing chamber falls under action of gravity down into container (95) for capsules; in the second position of the brewing module part, a capsule inserted through the capsule insertion hole is forced to stop vertically above the brewing position level in the capsule recognition position. In the third position, the capsule in the capsule recognition position can fall down from the capsule recognition position substantially to the level of brewing position, wherein the second position is between the first position and the third position.

EFFECT: brewing module for beverage preparation machine is proposed.
