SUBSTANCE: unit includes radial and axial ribbon bearings, a preload control device for adjusting the bearing rigidity during operation, an electromagnetic unloading system for reducing the amplitude of the rotor oscillations, and a discharge element that increases the bearing load without damaging the corrugated ribbons. Foil journal bearing contains the insert (6), to compensate for the misalignment of the bearing relative pins (2) elastic element in the form of a elastodeformed block to increase damping, consisting of corrugated (20) and two smooth bands (16, 22). The corrugated ribbons in the bearing have different heights and alternate in the axial direction to reduce wear at start and stop. Top ribbon (4) of the bearing is held in slots of the keys (70, 80) without welding. The axial bearing has corrugated ribbons with ridges arranged in the circumferential direction for bearing operation in the sealing mode. The upper ribbons of the bearing are made with slots in the circumferential direction to reduce the temperature deformation.

EFFECT: increased damping, carrying ability and feasibility of manufacturing of the ribbon bearing, reduced wear of the top ribbon of the radial ribbon bearing during start and stop of the rotor, and simplified its securing, reduced speed of rotor emersion in the ribbon bearing, rigidity control of the ribbon bearing with rotating rotor and simplified bearing assemblage.
