SUBSTANCE: spacecraft engine (10) containing a chemical thruster having nozzle (30) for ejecting a combustion gas, together with a Hall-effect thruster. Said engine is configured in such a way that the nozzle serves as an ejection channel for particles ejected by the Hall-effect thruster when it is running.
EFFECT: engine can provide high thrust with a low specific impulse or relatively low thrust with a high specific impulse.
