FIELD: spacecraft.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to plasma jet engines, particularly those employing galvanomagnetic Hall effect. Engines can be used in space for holding satellite on geostationary orbit or shift satellite from one orbit to the other or to compensate for resistance forces acting onto satellites on low orbit or fulfilling the tasks which require insignificant thrust during very long time, as in interplanet flights. Proposed engine has main circular channel and magnetic contour including bottom rear plate from which central and periphery posts project. At least one of posts or part of posts contain permanent magnets. Induction coils are arranged either around posts with permanent magnets or around posts which have no permanent magnets.
EFFECT: reduced mass, overall dimensions, power consumption and cost of jet engine.
