Method of configuring a communication device includes: sending, by the communication device, a first loopback packet using the first physical port after the communications device is started, where the first loopback packet includes a loopback tag; and if the second physical port of the communication device receives the first packet of the loopback, selecting, by the communication device, the first configuration option of at least two configuration options and configuring the communication device according to the first configuration option.
EFFECT: technical result consists in simplifying the process of configuring a communication device.
