FIELD: chemistry.

SUBSTANCE: present invention relates to the use of a gel-like polymer composition in compositions for automatic dishwashing. Proposed is the use of a gel-like polymer composition obtained by the method comprising the following steps: a) providing a monomer composition that consists of acrylic acid or acrylic acid and at least one other α,β-ethylenically unsaturated acid selected from carboxylic acids, sulfonic acids, phosphonic acids and their mixtures, wherein the monomer composition is free of monomers with a crosslinking action, which contain two or more capable of polymerization α,β-ethylenically unsaturated double bonds per molecule; b) free-radical polymerization of the monomer composition from step a) in the presence of at least one polyether component which is selected from polyether alcohols with a number average molecular weight of at least 200 g/mol and their mono- and dialkyl ethers from 1–6 carbon atoms in alkyl, surfactants containing polyether groups, and mixtures thereof, wherein the free-radical polymerization in stage b) is additionally carried out in the presence of a solvent that is selected from water, alkanoic alcohols with 1–6 carbon atoms, different from the simple polyester component of the polyols, their simple mono- and dialkyl ethers and their mixtures, in compositions for automatic dishwashing. Also composition for automatic dishwashing using a gel-like polymer composition and a method for automatic dishwashing using a composition for automatic dishwashing are proposed.

EFFECT: proposed composition has a good cleansing efficiency even at low temperatures and has a positive effect on the acceleration of drying.
